 The 4th International Conference on Physiotherapy in Oncology (ICPTO) will be held at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland on April 17th and 18th 2026.

ICPTO brings together physiotherapists from around the world to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and discuss the latest scientific advancements in oncology physiotherapy. As cancer treatments and therapies evolve, so too does the need for specialized rehabilitation. Therefore, the overall theme of the 2026 conference is:

'Promoting excellence in oncology physiotherapy in the modern era’

The programme includes plenary sessions, focused symposia, and practical workshops on the evolving roles of physiotherapy in oncology, with a focus on:

Innovative technologies in cancer rehabilitation,
Policy and advocacy challenges, including diversity and inclusion,
Managing musculoskeletal sequelae of cancer treatments, and
Translating knowledge into clinical practice.

Keynote speaker

Louise Koelmeyer, BAppSc(OT) PhD

Associate Professor Louise Koelmeyer is Head of the Department of Health Sciences and Director of the Australian Lymphoedema Education, Research and Treatment (ALERT) Centre within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences at Macquarie University. Louise is a lymphoedema therapist (Occupational therapist), educator and researcher with over 30 years of clinical experience in both public and private hospital and clinic settings specializing in breast cancer rehabilitation and lymphoedema management in all areas of assessment, education, early detection and treatment. Louise is involved in strategically managing and developing the education, research and treatment arms of the innovative multidisciplinary, translational clinical, research and education program that is a recognised LE&RN Centre of Excellence.
